About Aldactone
Aldactone is a medicine containing Spironolactone, a "potassium sparing" diuretic which is used for the treatment of a high blood pressure. Spironolactone works by making the kidney remove all unnecessary water and salt in the body through the urine. It may also have other uses as instructed by your doctor.
Usage
Aldactone comes as a tablet that is taken orally. It should be taken according to your doctor's directions, usually once or twice a day with meals. Do not take a dose higher or lower than your prescribed amount. Do not stop taking Aldactone without consulting your doctor. If you forget to take a dose take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose take it and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take more than your usual dosage to make up for a missed one. Do not take it if it's expiration date has passed.
Side effects
Aldactone may cause the following side effects: vomiting, frequant urination, menstrual irregularities, weariness, swollen or painful breasts, diarrhea, dizziness, abdominal pains, and nausia. Notify your doctor if these symptoms should persist. Other rarer side effects may include weight loss, sore throat, an irregular heartbeat, yellow skin or eyes, pains, fevers, confusion, rashes, abnormal bleeding and vomiting blood. If any of these symptoms should appear contact your doctor immediately!
Storage
Aldactone should be kept tightly closed in the container it came in. It should be kept at room's temperature. Avoid storing it near heat or light.
