About Actigall
Actigall is a medicine containing Ursodiol, a bile acid which gets stored in
the gallbladder and is used to remove or prevent the formation of gallstones.
Ursodiol works by diminishing the production of cholestorol and removing the cholestorol
from bile thus preventing it from forming into stones. It may also have other
uses as instructed by your doctor.
Usage
Actigall comes as a capsule that is taken orally. It should be taken according to your doctor's directions, usually twice a day. Actigall may take months before it start showing it's effect. Do not take a dose higher or lower than your prescribed amount. Do not stop taking it without consulting your doctor. If you forget to take a dose take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose take it and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take more than your usual dosage to make up for a missed one. Do not take it if it's expiration date has passed.
Side effects
Actigall may cause the following side effects: hair loss, headaches, dizziness, muscle or joint pains, coughing, a sore throat, constipation, indigestion, nausia and vomiting. Notify your doctor if these symptoms should persist. Other rarer side effects may include fever and frequant and painful urination. If any of these symptoms should appear contact your doctor immediately!
Storage
Actigall should be kept tightly closed in the container it came in. It should
be kept at room's temperature. Avoid storing it near heat or light.
