About Aldara
Aldara is a medicine containing Imiquimod, an immune response modifier which is used for the treatment of genital and rectal warts. It may also have other uses as instructed by your doctor.
Usage
Aldara comes as a cream that is that is applied to the affected area. It should be used according to your doctor's directions, usually three times a week, every second day, before going to sleep. Aldara is applied by first washing your hands and then rubbing it on the affected area until it is no longer visible on the skin. It should be left there for 6 to 10 hours and then the remainder of the cream should be washed off. Do not use it more or less than your prescribed amount. If you forget to apply a dose apply it at your next dosing schedule and continue as usual. Do not use more than your usual dosage to make up for a missed one. Do not use it if it's expiration date has passed. Aldara should be used for external use only directly at the skin.
Side effects
Aldara may cause the following side effects: swelling, blisters or bumps, red, burning or itchy skin, a change in skin color, muscle pains, fever and infection. Notify your doctor if these symptoms should persist.
Storage
Aldara should be kept tightly closed in the container it came in. It should be kept at room's temperature. Avoid storing it near heat or light.
