About Aviane
Aviane is a medicine containing both Estrogen and Progestin, two female hormones that when combined are used to prevent pregnancy. Estrogen and Progestin work by stopping the ovaries from releasing eggs. They may also have other uses as instructed by your doctor.
Usage
Aviane comes as a tablet that is taken orally. It should be taken according to your doctor's directions, usually once a day for 21 days and then a week without. It is best taken with food or milk. Aviane takes about a week to start working and should be taken on a regular basis to insure it takes effect. If you miss a dose you might have to take it for another week before it starts working again. Do not take a dose higher or lower than your prescribed amount. Do not stop taking Aviane without consulting your doctor. Do not take it if it's expiration date has passed.
Side effects
Aviane may cause the following side effects: swelling, constipation, acne, diarrhea, nausia, vomiting, weight gain or loss, cramps, irregularities in menstral periods and unusual hair growth. Notify your doctor if these symptoms should persist. Other rarer side effects may include headaches, fevers, rashes, dark urine, abnormal bleeding, depression, weariness, yellow eyes or skin, abdominal pains, general pains, dizziness, speech impediment, weakness and breathing difficulties . If any of these symptoms should appear contact your doctor immediately!
Storage
Aviane should be kept tightly closed in the container it came in. It should be kept at room's temperature. Avoid storing it near heat or light.
